Andy has undertaken photographic commissions since 1985, working alongside other professionals to broaden his knowledge whilst developing his own visual voice.
In 1991 Andy became a full-time freelance professional Photographer involved in social and commercial photography, undertaking commissions throughout the United Kingdom for a variety of commercial clients and has kept abreast of contemporary practices within the commercial photographic market place.
Andy achieved an FdA (Foundation Degree in Art) in Professional Photography in 2005, followed by a BA (Hons) in Commercial Photography in 2006.
Andy has worked at the AUB in its various guises since 2006 as part of the Photography Technical staff, with a few areas of expertise and valued as an enthusiastic team member.
He was recently seconded to create the AUB Central Media Store in 2021 and at present still occupies the role, which he enthusiastically and energetically steers towards this now invaluable resource, to make it the envy of any media based University.
Whilst earning a regular wage teaching photographic techniques, camera craft, processing and printing, both analogue and digital, he has also maintained a current portfolio of work and when time allows the occasional commercial commission.
In 2010, Andy gained his Professional Graduate Certificate in Education at HE Level, giving him professional teaching qualifications at University level.
He has taught on short courses covered photographic lighting techniques across a wide range of disciplines and has an affinity and long association with fine art Black and White printing.
He has also achieved an MA in Commercial Photography in 2018 in which he focused on the Anthropocene and current climate change concerns, this also has made him rethink his current practice, which now involves landscapes within the UK concerned with conflicts of war.
He has an ongoing exhibition of landscapes within a Westbourne Holistic Medical practice, that has gallery facilities, where his work is displayed, where the public can view many of his large-framed pieces.
