Celina teaches across BA(Hons) Fashion and BA(Hons) Fashion Branding Communication with focus on fashion presentation and industry practices.
Specialised in visual communication, printed textiles and creative management, Celina has been working internationally in the fashion industry for brands, magazines, design studios and textile industries across many fields such as trend forecast, concept development, cobranding campaigns, graphic design, and creating prints and graphics collections for interiors, men, women, and kids wear. Her work can be found in companies such as Zara, Mango, M&S, Osklen, Farm Rio, C&A and Ipanema in the high streets and catwalks around the globe.
Celina’s multidisciplinary experiences led her to be interested in adapting business and entrepreneurship practices that are not traditionally embedded in the creative fields to facilitate students and young professionals to thrive in their careers through their creativity, strengths, skills, and passions.
At AUB Celina co-leads the Personal Branding Unit and guides students in the making of contemporary portfolios to launch fashion graduate careers in relation to employability and postgraduate study. Recent students’ success include: GFW Fashion Innovation Portfolio Award 2022.
Celina’s previous educational experiences include institutions in Brazil and in the UK such as Kingston University, Saïd Business School at Oxford University, SENAI/CETIQT and Instituto Rio Moda. During her academic journey, she facilitated workshops, judged and mentored hackathons, guided the development of live industry briefings, analysed portfolios and taught in a range of fields including design thinking for startups, mapping the creative economy, trend research, and print design. She was also a speaker at Rio Fashion Week and other events from Brazilian’s fashion calendar.
During Celina’s MA on Managing in the Creative Economy at Kingston University, she conducted a study to understand how creative professionals are responding to the challenges of the new economy of being both the creative and business minds. She continues to be excited about combining business and creativity on her research, work, and teaching practices.
