As Senior Access and Participation Officer I lead on our Pre-16 activity, ensuring that that there are progression routes to the University for underrepresented groups working with education providers, local authority and non-profit organisations. I am also Project Lead for Being a Boy, a fully funded workshop series for young men that explore themes of masculinity. The project provides a creative channel for participants to reflect on what being a young man means and their own lived experiences.
I am passionate about creative education and working to provide further accessibility in this area so that all that want to pursue their creative aspirations have the opportunity to do this. As a creative I have worked in a variety of industries including education, events, marketing, and non-profit. I have previously worked within the Access and Participation team as Administrator and Coordinator for the team, working across all of our access projects.
In my spare time, I am a practising contemporary artist, working with confessional and conceptual styles with mixed media and collage to discuss themes around identity and popular culture. I engage in the local arts community, volunteering for creative organisations. I am also a keen runner and regularly enter running events in the Dorset and Hampshire area raising money for charity.
