Harriet Mummery

Harriet Mummery is a Technician Demonstrator for BA(Hons) and MA Illustration courses, providing support and teaching a variety of traditional mediums and digital practices, with specialisms in sustainable practices and Risograph printing at Arts University Bournemouth. She has been awarded the Advance HE Fellowship after recently completing her Postgraduate certificate in Education Studies for Higher Education.

Harriet has curated multiple shows since 2013 in addition to yearly undergraduate and postgraduate exhibitions, she undertook the curation of the the BA(Hons) drawing response to the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2018 "Positive and Negative Space" exhibition with TheGallery at AUB, and local touring exhibition "Sequential Narrative: Risograph Showcase" 2022. Sustainable curation is a key aspect of her practice, and has recently published an abstract from her paper in the Fusion Learning in Excellence Colloquium. The Poster abstract explores the notion of the climate agenda in undergraduate creative courses, using the narrative of sustainable exhibitions as a framework for organic integration of Education for Sustainable Development.

In 2022 Harriet undertook an artist residency in Snæfellsnes, Iceland to develop practice-based research to question our own ecology and the digital landscape, focusing on Lichen and their symbiotic nature. Her practice is grounded in metaphor, from researching the ocean and ethology of marine organisms as a domain for the social era pre-2018, to currently exploring photosynthetic colonies and their environment.
