Overview
I'm a product designer/design engineer. After completing a PhD at Aston University, I worked for nearly five years in commercial R&D developing mass manufactured consumer electronics.
At AUB, I'm a member of the Creative Technologies Research Group - working with the innovation studio to conduct research.

Research
Research Interests and Projects
The subject of my PhD was sustainable materials and manufacturing processes. From this and my professional practice, I've become an expert in design for manufacture, prototype development and product testing.
As a member of the Creative Technologies Research Group, I'm interested in design research - including design processes, product development and participatory research.
Research Supervision
I am co-supervisor of two current PhD students at AUB:
- Sophie Fretwell: The role of artisan costumes in CGI dominated fantasy films
- Chris Courage: Data Materiality - fabricating experiences of complex topics (water quality)
