Dr Kirsten Tatum is a Senior Lecturer on the Master of Architecture course at AUB, where she is responsible for leading the Year 1 Units. She is also Programme Leader for the new online MA Landscape Architecture Studies course currently in development. Kirsten holds a PhD on the topic of architecture in UK National Parks. She studied architecture at the Architectural Association and art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
She is also a qualified landscape designer. Originally from Canada, she has lived and worked in seven different countries, including at Foster and Partners in Tokyo and TSP Architects and Planners in Singapore. Her teaching practice reflects her interdisciplinary background and research interests.

Kirsten's research reflects her interdisciplinary background and interests, exploring the interconnected ecological and social processes connecting landscape and architecture across multiple urban scales, including contested rurality, landscape planning and regulation, national park planning, authorised heritage discourse, and competing sustainabilities.
Developing Research and Knowledge Transfer activities with local partners including the National Trust, BCP Council and the Russel-Cotes Museum.
