Since graduating from the RCA with an MA in Printed Textiles in 2001, I have freelanced for various design agencies producing print and textile designs for both the fashion and interior market. Shortly after graduating I won the Colour Prize at Texprint enabling me to showcase my work in Paris and Hong Kong. I have a passion for drawing and painting which is a constant inspiration in my work, and have exhibited in both group and solo shows locally and nationally since leaving university. I was until recently represented by The Curwen Gallery in London for many years.
My role at AUB is primarily working with Level 5 students on the BA (Hons) Textiles degree helping to guide and teach them through a range of practical projects and textile experiences, collaborative working and responses to live briefs. I teach across all year groups with assessment, practical drawing sessions, tutorials and crit support. I am also involved in assessment procedures as well as the annual graduate degree show and the external graduate show in London.
I currently teach on the BA (Hons) Textiles course at AUB. Prior to this I was Pathway Leader for Fashion and Textiles on the Foundation course and a pathway leader for Design on the National Diploma Art and Design course at AUB.
I have been a visiting tutor for first and second year textiles students at Loughborough University and Winchester School of Art on both the BA (Hons) Textiles courses.
