Roland is an experienced educator who utilises a wide range of teaching strategies in his teaching practice. In addition to teaching, Roland's role on the foundation course includes managing other lecturers, designing and implementing innovative curriculum, refining systems, contributing to progression initiatives and providing pastoral support.
As an Illustrator, Roland has diverse interests in image making and illustration practices. He has worked for a range of clients responding to many types of briefs. Clients include BBC, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Mantra Lingua, A and C Black, Bloomsbury, Scholastic and the Diocese of Gloucester.
I currently teach on the Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media. I have been a member of the course team during its last three Ofsted inspections, for which it was awarded overall grades of "Outstanding".
I have previously taught as a visiting lecturer/tutor on illustration degree courses at the University of Plymouth, the University of the West of England and Arts University College Bournemouth (now Arts University Bournemouth).
