Sharon Beeden is a Visiting Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Illustration and MA Illustration course at Arts University Bournemouth.
Having graduated from the Royal College of Art, she has worked for a diversity of both national and international clients as a freelance illustrator, Sharon now combines her creative practice and enthusiasm within her role as Visiting Lecturer whilst teaching on the BA (Hons) and MA Illustration courses, in devising new initiatives.
Sharon’s research relating to learning and teaching strategies and interest in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), using the NLP model has been recognised in learning and teaching awards and she is a Master NLP Practitioner.
Areas of interest, enthusiasm and expertise relate to the process of drawing and painting in its many forms. Sharon is responsible for the Life Drawing programmes within the BA (Hons) Illustration and the Graduate School. Her research practice and creative projects inform the curriculum and ensure currency in relation of contemporary illustration/fine art and design practice. She encourages her students to be ‘partners in enquiry’, and to continually push the boundaries of their creative practice.
