My professional background started in Fashion with my first degree at London College of Fashion. I worked my way up in the industry, working for as a junior buyer at River Island, in fashion design for Paul Costelloe and as a formalwear buyer for New Look. I then relocated to Dorset and re-trained in Graphic Design at AUB (then Arts Institute Bournemouth) under Roger Gould before working my way through the ranks in advertising and design at The Walker Agency, Bournemouth. I became a senior designer for New Forest Council before starting my own agency, Blue Walnut Design, in 2012.
My role at AUB began as a visiting tutor in Graphics on the Foundation course where I fell in love with teaching and became a part-time lecturer in Graphic Communication. In May 2023, the new online MA Courses were born and I became Course Leader for the MA Graphic Design.
My passion is for creating brands and working with clients to bring their business dreams to reality. My research interests lie in the psychology of brand and in particular, the science behind the emotional impact of typography in the branding process.
